Hi! I’m Alessia – the heart and hands behind Alessia’s Cookies.

I’m 22 years old and based in Monroe, Connecticut, where I grew up surrounded by an Italian family, tradition, and lots of good food. I graduated from Masuk High School in 2022 and began my college journey at the University of Scranton, studying Early Primary Education. I’ve since transferred to Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, where I continue pursuing my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.

I’ve always been a creative person, and that creativity shows up not only in the classroom but also in the kitchen. My love for baking started young—so young, in fact, that I launched a YouTube channel called Alessia in the Kitchen back in 5th grade! While I didn’t stick with the channel long-term, the passion behind it never left me.

My biggest inspirations were the incredible women in my life: my Nonna, her sister Michelina, and Nora (Mia), a grandmother figure to me. They were always in the kitchen, feeding and nurturing our family with love through food. Every Christmas, my Nonna and I make Calabrese Turdilli which are crunchy wine cookies coated in honey and sprinkles. They’re still my favorite holiday treat. During Easter, Nora and I would bake traditional Italian pies like pizza rustica, wheat pie, and rice pie. Helping her with those special recipes is a memory I cherish deeply.
